OBSESSING OVER INSTAGRAM LIKES

Instagram is a platform for sharing our photos and videos with our friends and family members.
In short it’s a social networking site. When we post or share our photos or video, we generally
expect likes from our followers. We always have a curiosity to know number of likes we got on
our photos. But when a person gets a good amount of likes on a photo then he gets obsession
over it and always aims for more number of likes.
Affecting Mental Health
Aiming for more number of likes may give you a mental stress. Imagine you are using instagram
and when u posts a picture u use to get on average of 100 likes. But this time you got only
about 80 likes. Doesn’t it affect you? Definitely it affects you. You keep on thinking why I am not
getting likes. Then you feel unsatisfied and you aim for more likes. You keep on thinking
weather the photo is bad or I didn’t gave a good caption and everything runs in your brain.
Which may affect your mental health? Then there comes the fake likes into the picture.
Do you know there are apps to get instagram likes?
Yeah, it’s true. There are paid and free apps and websites which can provide you number of
likes you need or you wish to have for your photo. Isn’t weird, because just for likes you pay
money on something which is of no use. But it definitely gives you satisfaction. Satisfying
yourself is important because then only u will be able to be happy and content.
Being happy is important, but why we need a huge amount of likes to be happy. Is that needed?
That depends on each person, it’s an individual decision. If more number of likes makes a
person happy then what else you need. In other way these apps help the people in many ways
because due to less likes they feel stressed and many mental health issues. But these apps are
absolutely there stress relievers.
Hiding Instagram likes
Recently, Instagram tested people by hiding number of likes. This was first tested in Canada.
Where instagram hided number of likes, the followers can’t see the number they can only see
the people’s account but not the number. Only the person who owns the account can see the
likes only when he clicks the others in the instagram. Imagine, you post a picture and there are
no likes for that photo. You definitely feel stressed don’t you?
Later, the Instagram tested in other countries like Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Italy etc. This
process may expand to more countries also. There are some users who don’t even think about

likes, comments. For them this is not even a problem. So instagram conducted this test to only
test them, who are mad for likes.
Don’t run behind likes
In conclusion, don’t run behind likes. It doesn’t give you anything. Never feel bad when you get
a less number of likes, because they are real likes. The people who liked your photo or video are
genuine. If you pay for likes, those are not real.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
